What does it mean to name a star?
You pick a real star you can see in the night sky, and we record your chosen name for it in our register. The star is listed under your name only and is never assigned to anyone else, and your certificate is the proof of that record.
How to record a star name and make an order?
Choose a star on our Order page, then add the name, a personal message, the date and options like brightness, constellation or PDF only. Add it to your cart, enter your delivery and payment details at checkout and place your order.
What is the difference between Gift Package and .PDF Only option? Which should I choose?
PDF Only costs less and arrives by email within 5 minutes of payment, so it is ideal for last-minute gifts you print yourself. The Gift Package adds a beautifully printed certificate and star map shipped to your door – see our Print Quality page.
What is the status of my order?
Check it any time on the Track Your Order page with your order ID and email, where you can also get the tracking number, download your PDF and edit your certificate. We also email you when payment is confirmed and, for Gift Packages, again when it ships.
Will I be able to see my star?
Yes, it is a real star in the night sky. Every Gift Package includes a star map that shows you exactly where to find it.
Do you offer discounts if I name several stars at once?
Yes, bulk orders get a discount and can be customized, which is perfect for teams and families. See Corporate Orders or contact us for a quote.
How long is my star name valid?
Forever – the registration never expires. If you ever want to change the name, contact us and we will update the record.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal, and bank transfer by invoice on request. All orders are prepaid online; see Delivery and Payments for details.
How long would it take to receive my order?
PDF certificates arrive by email within 5 minutes of payment. Gift Packages are prepared within 2 business days, and shipping time depends on your location and method – see Delivery and Payments. Bank transfers add 2–3 days for the payment to clear.
How can I cancel my order and get a refund?
Our Return Policy explains when an order can be cancelled and refunded. To request it, contact us with your order ID.
Do I legally own my Star?
No one can legally own a star, and names from private registries like ours are not recognized by scientific bodies. What you get is a permanent, personal record in our register and a certificate to remember it by – read more in Can You Name a Star with IAU?.
